ESSCO AGM 2020 Organizing Committee Applications Now Open!

Interested in getting involved in organizing a province-wide engineering conference? Apply to be a VP on the Organizing Committee for McMaster's bid for ESSCO's Annual General Meeting 2020! The Engineering Student Societies’ Council of Ontario (ESSCO) is responsible for providing unity, communication, and collaboration between engineering schools across Ontario. ESSCO acts as a link between engineering students and professional associations, academia, and government to advocate for matters of common interest. ESSCO hosts four conferences annually, including ESSCO’s Annual General Meeting. This is a four-day conference that focuses on promoting leadership and sharing of best practices between engineering societies. Julia Bauer and Matana Hendrickson are excited to be bidding to be co-chairs for ESSCO’s Annual General Meeting in February 2020. We are looking for students interested in being part of our Organizing Committee. The following positions are available: VP Marketing: Oversees the marketing, including graphic design, communication on social media and to delegates, and organizes swag. VP Sponsorship: Responsible for the sponsorship behind the conference. This includes, but is not limited to, creating a sponsorship package and contacting potential sponsors. VP Finance: Creates and updates the budget, responsible for delegate fees and registration, as well as money from sponsors. VP Seminars: Works closely with VP Events and VP Operations to handle logistics. Plans seminars and key sessions, and contacts guest speakers. VP Events: Works closely with VP Seminars and VP Operations to handle logistics. Responsible for organizing main social events and formal gala. VP Operations: Works closely with VP Events and VP Seminars to handle logistics. Ensures that the conference runs cohesively by booking venues and accommodation, organizing transportation, and ordering food.
