Hatch Room Booking
important note & COVID-19 UPDATE
With the current hybrid format of classes this year, Hatch rooms are in higher demand than usual. If for any reason you determine that you no longer need the Hatch room, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to cancel your booking and open up the spot for someone else!
Hatch rooms are still available for booking and will be following the same guidelines as the McMaster libraries. As such, you can still reserve and use Hatch study rooms as long as you socially distance, wear masks at all times, and follow all University guidelines.
how to access & use the hatch rooms
Any McMaster Engineering Student, Club or Team is welcome to book one of Hatch's 2nd level study rooms. Each room has a number of tables, outlets, a whiteboard and a Smartboard that can be connected wireless via computer.
THESE ROOMS ARE FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS ONLY. IF YOU ARE AN ENGINEERING STUDENT, YOU NEED A KEY CARD TO GET INTO THE ROOMS.
Students require an access card in order to access the Hatch study rooms. A card can be obtained from The Hub, JHE-216A with a $10 deposit charged to your student account. The card will be valid for as long as you are a registered engineering undergraduate student, and a refund will be applied to your student account when you return the card.
The Hub is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Please visit the Engineering Support Services website for more details.
Hatch Room Bookings consist of hourly sessions from 7:00AM - 11:00 PM, seven days a week. A user may multiple bookings for any room up to 6 sessions (3 hours) per day. Bookings are officially made once you submit the form and have received email confirmation.
