Introduction
Hi, I'm Sparsh Poddar, a second-year computer science student. I have a strong understanding of the challenges of being a student in this program, which allows me to empathize with and advocate for my fellow students. I possess excellent communication skills, which are essential for serving as a liaison between the MES, program societies, and students.
I am enthusiastic about promoting MES events and activities and encouraging participation in all MES activities. I am highly organized and detail-oriented, which would come in handy when organizing my program’s team(s) for MES Sports Tournaments, ensuring quorum is met at General Meetings, and representing the MES at my respective Program Society’s meetings.
With my strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and dedication to serving my fellow students, I believe I would be an excellent fit for this position.

Campaign Platform
As a candidate for the position of liaison between the MES, program societies, and students, I am excited to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the student community. I have several ideas for my platform that I believe could significantly improve the student experience.
Firstly, I want to focus on improving communication channels. As a liaison, it's crucial to ensure that all channels of communication are open and effective. I plan to implement regular newsletters, bulletin boards, and social media updates to keep students informed about the latest MES and program society news. Additionally, I intend to establish an open-door policy and set up regular office hours to provide a direct line of communication for students to express their concerns, questions, and feedback.
Secondly, I want to work towards enhancing student life. To do this, I plan to organize events and activities that promote a sense of community and help students connect and engage with one another. These events could include social gatherings, charity fundraisers, or academic support groups. I also want to work towards improving study spaces and consider the possibility of creating a mentorship program to help students navigate the challenges of university life.
Thirdly, I am passionate about supporting diversity and inclusion. To promote an inclusive community, I want to create forums or clubs that celebrate diversity, promote inclusion and encourage dialogue. I will work to identify and remove any barriers that may be preventing some students from fully participating in the MES or other programs, such as language or cultural barriers.
Fourthly, I want to focus on increasing student involvement. To encourage student engagement, I plan to introduce an online portal for event registration, event sign-ups and polls to help gauge student interest and involvement in MES and program society events. I will also work with program societies to create a mentorship program that pairs upper-year students with first-year students to foster involvement and engagement.
Finally, I want to focus on increasing transparency within the MES. I believe that the student body has the right to know what their student government is doing and where their funds are being allocated. To ensure financial transparency, I plan to host open meetings, post meeting minutes, and share reports on the organization's activities, initiatives, and plans. Additionally, I want to establish an independent oversight committee or internal audit program to ensure the MES adheres to ethical standards.
In conclusion, I believe that my platform can bring about positive changes and improvements that would benefit the entire community. As a candidate for the position of liaison, I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that the voices of all students are heard, and that their needs and interests are fully represented within the MES and program societies.
