WELLNESS RESOURCES + SUPPORT

With the school year at full speed, things can start to feel overwhelming. Taking care of your body, as well as your mental health, should be just as important as studying for your midterms. Although it can sometimes be hard to navigate all the different resources that Mac has to offer, we have put together a (non-comprehensive) list to start you off.

Student Health Education Centre (SHEC): SHEC is a peer-run health support and resource center located in MUSC 202. There you can find free health supplies and educational material regarding sexual reproduction, substance abuse and mental wellbeing.

ACADEMIC RESOURCES + support

Additionally, we want you to know that there are academic resources at your disposition. The Student Success Centre can help you connect with a tutor through the undergrad peer tutoring network. They have negotiated hourly rates, therefore, a tutoring session will not cost you more than $18.00 per hour. Additionally, the MES Academic Resources offers coupons to subsidize.

The cost of tutoring lessons through TutorOcean. Check their website for additional information on prices and a link to sign up. Don't forget to have a look at their textbook library as well as their tests and notes bank. These can come in very handy when studying for midterms and exams.

Don’t forget to check for COVID-19 updates and modifications to in-person services.

Although this is not an extensive list, we hope you can find a service that fits your needs. Remember, don’t be afraid to ask for help! You will be surprised to see how many people are more than willing to support you.
