a message from your co-oc's
What's Krack-a-lackin'! From the bottom of our hearts, we want to extend the warmest of welcomes to all of our incoming Engineering, iBioMed, B.Tech., and Computer Science students. We are beyond excited that you’ve chosen to join us here in Mac Eng for the next 4-7 years!
We are your Co-Orientation Coordinators for Welcome Week 2021, Jack Flannery (he/him) and Kristine Uchendu (she/her). As Co-OCs, we have the pleasure of leading our group of 150 upper-year engineering representatives throughout this week to ensure you all have the best welcome to your new family!
We have an incredible week of events planned out for you, including games, panels, competitions, coding & CAD challenges, yoga, and endless opportunities to meet each other and your upper-year reps. Speaking of these reps, the Redsuits are here to lead you through the week and answer any questions you might have about your program and student life at McMaster. Our team is made up of students from every program in the Faculty of Engineering, each with their own unique identities, beliefs, and experiences. The reps will be your go-to if you have any questions about getting involved with clubs or teams, advice for your courses, or just need someone to talk to.
Your main community unit during Welcome Week will be your Squad — a small group of first-year students just like you, led by a few Redsuits. Squads will take part in competitions and challenges throughout the week, and provide you with your first group of friends here. Very soon you will be added to either the Wonder Plumber Squads MS Team or the Super Plumber Squads MS Team. In those teams will be a general announcements channel, as well as a private channel for you and your Squad to interact and get to know each other better.
We hope you enjoy the Welcome Week we’ve put together for all of you, whether it be attending the online events, in-person events, or a mix of both! We can’t wait to welcome all of you!
Thanks for coming out, mwah!
Jack Flannery (he/him) & Kristine Uchendu (she/her)
